Visitors to the Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers will enjoy 20 acres of historical buildings, historic gardens, the Edison Botanical Research Lab and the Edison Ford Museum. The newly restored buildings include the Edison Main House, Guest House, Caretaker's House and the Ford House.

Historical records in the Edison archives show Mina Edison, wife of legendary inventor Thomas Edison, as a gracious hostess and interested in the well-being of children and the community. Following in this tradition, Etiquette at the Edison Ford, includes a one day (two hour) lesson in timeless etiquette and social skills.

Lessons in Manners for the Generations.
All sessions: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Students ages 6-12 will gather at the Edison Caretaker's House for a two hour lesson in good manners. This class teaches children proper introduction, handshakes, and dining etiquette during a three course meal. Each student will receive a workbook and certificate of completion.

The classes are taught by Suzanne Willis who teaches similar classes at Ritz-Carlton hotels throughout the nation. Willis is a graduate of the Protocol School of Palm Beach and a Fort Myers native. Willis created her etiquette classes in honor of her grandmother, Florence "Mimi" Black.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. SPACE IS LIMITED.

Children will play, learn, and gain valuable social skills as they explore the hands-on Wizard's Workshop space. Each session, children will interact with different hands-on activities and challenges. 1st Tuesday of every month Sept-April, 9am to 10am; one adult and one child
